Justice League BrickHeadz

LEGO created 6 BrickHeadz based on the Justice League movie. The six BrickHeadz were released in 5 different sets and include; The Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg, Tactical Batman and Superman.

The Flash

The Justice League movie updated the look of the Flash with a much more detailed costume. There are a lot of black elements included in the new costume as opposed to the traditional red and yellow costume from the comics. The use of dark red is a great choice for this figure and it is nice to get more pieces in this color.

I really like the use of pearl gold pieces on each side of his head to represent the lightning bolts that are a signature feature of the Flash. Another good feature is the use of some black grill pieces on the back of the costume. This adds a lot of texture to the BrickHead and looks really good. Again this is a departure from the traditional plain hood I'm used to with the Flash.

Overall this is a good representation of the character from the movie. The additional detailing on the back of his hood/helmet is a nice touch although it isn't going to be seen when displaying the BrickHead.

Wonder Woman

This is my favorite BrickHead in this collection. The prints are great and like most female BrickHeadz the hair build is excellent. The hair build captures the character perfectly. There is a lot of movement in the hair which makes the figure work well.

The prints are very good and include a belt buckle along with her costume and tiara. The 1X2 pearl gold piece for her belt buckle is a nice touch. Several plates are also used quite effectively to create her skirt and keeping with the proper color scheme.

Wonder Woman comes with two minifig accessories which are a bit small but are appropriate for the character. They include a sword and shield piece. The sword and shield are fairly common molds but the shield has some additional printing which make it unique.

Aquaman

The first thing I notice on Aquaman is the new color scheme. I am used to the traditional orange and red colors. However, the green and gold look is good and the prints which include a belt buckle print as well as some nice armor scale printing on bricks used for the front and back.

The hair build for this BrickHead seems a bit awkward to me. The tile used for the forehead sticks out a bit prominently making it look like he has a receding hair line. Most BrickHeadz hair builds are even with or in front of the forehead piece. Although it is also probably the way the hair slopes back so quickly that adds to the effect.

Overall this is a very colorful figure and I like the trident accessory as well. The dark green with gold printed bricks look great and the belt buckle is a good addition.

Cyborg

The designers did a great job at blending the human and machine elements of Cyborg together in this BrickHead. Lots of different types of pieces including plates, tiles, ingots and grill pieces really highlight the mechanical nature. There are just a few human elements to the figure but they are used to great effect.

As I mentioned several ingot pieces are used on the sides and back to provide the texture of the cyborg. The use of grill pieces in the back are similar to the technique used for the Flash. I also like the build of the sonic cannon for one of his arms. Once again ingot pieces are used to create some additional detailing.

Overall the colors work well together. There is good contrast between the human and machine parts. The use of dark and light gray provide some detailing that completes the figure.

Tactical Batman & Superman

These two BrickHeadz come in a two pack and were released a few months after the first four. Both of these BrickHeadz share the same cape build, which was also used for Kylo Ren. However, they are very different in all other ways.

Batman is wearing goggles which remind me more of Batman vs Superman than Justice League. However, the effect is good except there doesn't seem to be a bridge between the eyepieces. This makes it look like each eyepiece is separate to me.

The rest of Batman is quite black as you would expect. The prints for his utility belt and bat symbol are appropriate and look good. I also like the the way the ears of the cowl are built. It is the same build used for Batgirl and is very effective.

I appreciate the use of the darker red and blue colors for Superman. These fit well with the latest version of his costume from the movies. The hair build is also done very well, it looks a lot like the hairstyle from the movie as well. The prints are also good and provide some ab sculpting as well as the iconic symbol.

These two round out all of the heroes from the movie and it is a nice collection to have.

I did video reviews of each of these BrickHeadz which you can view using the links below.
